Pattaya Water Parks: Aquaverse vs Ramayana (2026 Guide)

Pattaya’s two main water parks are not interchangeable. Aquaverse (the park that long-time visitors still call Cartoon Network Amazone — it rebranded in 2022) is the smaller, movie-themed park in Na Jomtien, with stronger appeal for younger kids. Ramayana is the one that earns the “Thailand’s largest water park” claim — 45 acres of serious slides in a sprawling setting about 20km south of town.

Which one to pick depends on who you’re travelling with and what you want from the day.

The short version

  • Aquaverse (formerly Cartoon Network Amazone): compact, movie-themed zones (Jumanji, Ghostbusters, Hotel Transylvania). Better for younger children and those who want character theming. Adults ฿1,808 at the gate; children 3–12 ฿1,594; book online for a lower rate. Children under 3 free.
  • Ramayana: Thailand’s biggest water park, 45 acres, 21 water slides including AquaLoop and FreeFall. Better for thrill-seekers and mixed-age groups. Gate price ~฿1,490 adult; book online for 20-30% off. Children under 106cm free (pool zones only for free-category visitors — no water slide access).
  • Both parks are closed on Wednesdays. Plan around this — it catches people out.
  • Aquaverse opens at 10:00, Ramayana at 11:00. Last admission at Aquaverse is 15:30.
  • Both parks are in Sattahip district, south of Pattaya. A Grab from central Pattaya to Aquaverse runs roughly ฿300–฿400; Ramayana is further south (฿450–฿600).

Columbia Pictures Aquaverse

If you visited Pattaya before October 2022, you knew this as Cartoon Network Amazone. The park changed ownership and rebranded under Sony Pictures’ Columbia Pictures IP — so it’s now Jumanji, Ghostbusters and Hotel Transylvania where Finn and Jake once ruled. The rides themselves are largely the same; the theming is what changed.

The park sits at 888 Moo 8, Na Jomtien — about 30 minutes south of central Pattaya. It’s compact enough to cover everything in a day without feeling rushed.

The zones

Eight themed areas, each with its own look:

  • Hotel Transylvania — the wettest zone, with nine slides including enclosed tube rides. The one kids tend to fixate on.
  • Jumanji — adventure-themed area with slides and activity pools
  • Ghostbusters — slime-green theming, more slides and splash zones
  • Zombieland — extreme slides for adults
  • Surf’s Up — wave pool and beach area
  • Bad Boys Race Club — racing slides side by side
  • Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs — younger children’s splash zone
  • The Emoji Movie Mini Golf — separate activity, costs extra at the gate

The surfing simulator and go-karts also cost extra. If you want to try those, budget another ฿200–฿500 beyond your entry ticket.

Ramayana Water Park

Ramayana opened in 2016 and is still the bigger, ride-heavier choice. At 100 rai (about 45 acres) with 21 water slides, a 600-metre lazy river and a double wave pool with a 150-metre beach, it feels less like a roadside attraction and more like a full-day park, with hills behind the slides.

Address: 9 Moo 7, Ban Yen Road, Na Chom Thian, Sattahip — roughly 20km south of central Pattaya.

The slides

Ramayana’s big slides are the reason to go:

  • AquaLoop — enclosed capsule drop into a vertical loop. One of the most intense slides in Southeast Asia. Requires height 140cm+.
  • FreeFall — 10-storey near-vertical drop. Not for the faint-hearted.
  • Duelling Aqua-Coasters — two side-by-side coaster slides where you race a partner.
  • Aquaconda — giant enclosed multi-person tube slide.
  • Boomerango — half-pipe style slide on a large raft.
  • Serpentine, Mat Racer — high-speed open slides.

For families with younger children: the Aqua Play and Aqua Splash children’s zones are well-designed, and the lazy river runs 600 metres with waves and waterfalls throughout. The wave pool runs scheduled wave sessions rather than continuously — check the board at the pool when you arrive.

Practical tips for both parks

What to bring: Rash vest and water shoes save a lot of discomfort — the slide surfaces get hot in the sun and can abrade bare skin on open slides. Most rental gear is available at the parks but bring your own if you have it.

Lockers: Both parks have pay lockers. At Aquaverse, an online ticket typically includes locker rental. At Ramayana, budget an extra ฿100–฿200 for locker hire.

Food: Both parks have restaurants and pool bars inside. Prices are higher than town — typical water park mark-up. Aquaverse has a designated food area within each zone. Ramayana has a floating market food section and pool bar. Official policy at both parks prohibits outside food and drinks; exceptions typically apply for baby food and medical needs. Don’t count on sneaking in your own water.

Getting there: The easiest option is a Grab or Bolt. Aquaverse: ~฿300–฿400 from central Pattaya. Ramayana: ~฿450–฿600. Check the return trip — ride-hailing drivers are less common in this area and waits can be longer. Some guesthouses and hotels in Jomtien run minivan transfers to both parks; worth asking at reception. Our getting around Pattaya guide covers the transport options in detail.

Height restrictions: At Ramayana, AquaLoop and FreeFall require 140cm+. Children 106–122cm must wear a life jacket and be accompanied by an adult. At Aquaverse, individual ride restrictions are posted at each entry. Check before you queue for a specific slide.

Families with toddlers: If you’re travelling with under-5s, also read the Pattaya toddler guide — it covers heat management, nappy logistics and the best shaded rest spots around Sattahip.

Both are closed every Wednesday. Check around Thai public holidays too as hours sometimes change.

Which is better for young kids?

Under 5s who respond to film characters tend to love Aquaverse. Under-106cm kids get into Ramayana free, which tips the value calculation for families with primary-school-age children. For the full toddler logistics picture, read the Pattaya with toddlers guide.

Grab or Bolt from central Pattaya or Jomtien. Budget ฿300–฿400 to Aquaverse and ฿450–฿600 to Ramayana. Pre-book a return trip or confirm there are drivers in the area — the Sattahip coast is quieter for hailing rides. See the Pattaya transport guide for the full picture.
